Easy to manage and outfitted with a nice array of features, the Pioneer PD-M426 CD changer stores up to six CDs at once in its removable magazine, keeping the music flowing for hours. A magazine CD changer is ideal for listeners who like to organize their music by theme or artist. All they need to do is remove one magazine and insert another whenever they want to enjoy a different genre or set of CDs (each additional magazine is sold separately). It's a great way to downshift from upbeat dance tunes to mellow trance music while hosting a party, or to listen to a favorite artist's entire catalogue while cleaning the house. The audio sounds smooth and precise thanks to the 1-bit digital-to-analog converter and the low-noise, low-loss laser pickup. Among the playback functions are 32-track programming, which lets the listener create a custom soundtrack (the programmed tracks even stay in the memory after the unit shuts off); random play (one or all discs); and five unique repeat modes. An added convenience derives from the Delete Program Playback function, which lets listeners delete tracks or discs that they don't want to play without removing the CDs from the magazine. Additional features include Hi-Lite Scan, which plays roughly 10 seconds from the first track on either one or all the discs; timer playback when connected to an external timer unit; a programmable pause function (useful when recording onto a cassette); a full-function remote control; and system remote in/out jacks. The remote jacks let users connect the CD changer to a compatible Pioneer receiver, and then control the changer using the receiver's remote. The PD-M426 measures 16.56 by 4.12 by 11.56 inches (W x H x D) and carries a one-year warranty on parts and labor. What's in the Box

| This Pioneer magazine cd changer is the last of great home electronics products. The design is sleek and the sound is amazing. They focus on the fact that this is a cd changer and tried not to do more than what they should have. The fact that it is a magazine and not a carousel keeps my cd's from being scrached or spinning freely making that horrible griding sound like in other cd changers. I would recommend this to anybody that wants a great and fun design, with great quality sound! |

| I just bought this from Amazon recently. I had an older model of this CD player back in the early to mid 1990s. I went thru two Pioneer 25-disc CD players. (Both stopped working after 2 1/2 years.) I went to a Yamaha 5-disc carousel player, which I never really cared for. I was so excited when I found this Pioneer CD player on Amazon because I had been looking for this type of CD player. It is a very easy CD player to use. I like that I can keep my CDs in the magazines and not have to re-load the magazines each and everytime. (I just need to buy a bunch of magazines tho since I gave my old ones away a long time ago.). |

| This the second Pioneer Disc Magazine Changer we've owned. The first one was used continuously and must have lasted us about ten years. I'm sure our new one will give us similiar service. The sound quality is as good as anyone should expect and it's depenability and simplicity of operation all add up to excellent quality. |

This is the second Pioneer Magazine CD Changer I have owned. I think they are great. The only complaint I would have is the difficulty of getting it serviced.
I had to replace mine because of the service issue. I figured it would be cheaper and less hassle to buy a new one than to try to get the old one fixed.
It operates well, takes up little space, and fits my needs quite well. |

| Easy to set up, and all the advertised features appear to work fine. I bought this because I owned an earlier Pioneer model which also used the 6-CD cartridge, but that model finally wore out after many years of good service. I was relieved to see that this model accepts the same cartridges. The control panel is streamlined and simpler, but suffers no loss of the functionality I expect. Sound clarity transfer is great. Well recommended. |
